Spring cleaning Part 1

Today, something useful for you and me.

As the new year comes and with it a new spring. And many people also do a "general" spring clean in the flat. Here I'll give you a few ideas/ways to start cleaning your flat.

Ideas on how to get started, what tools you need and what to prepare:

Prepare all the necessary cleaning products, rags, brooms and other tools to save some valuable time.

Do not overdo it when using cleaning products, as some of them are very aggressive and harmful. Only very dirty or delicate items (glass, antique furniture, upholstered parts of chairs and sofas, etc.) should be cleaned with special cleaners, while most items can be cleaned with all-purpose cleaners. You can also use vinegar diluted with water, which is suitable for cleaning more delicate carpets as well as the fridge, as it eliminates unpleasant odours.

Cleaning should always start at the top - first, plastering cobwebs and dusting, then vacuuming and mopping the floors.

To avoid double work, start cleaning in the corner of the room furthest from the entrance, then gradually move towards the door.

If weather conditions permit, clean and tidy with the window open, so that the smell of cleaning products is avoided or at least partially reduced and dust does not swirl around the room.

Spring cleaning is also an ideal opportunity to take stock of your cupboards. There's no doubt that there's a whole pile of things in there that are stealing space because they haven't been used for years. Give them to those who really need them or simply throw them away.

And last but not least, let's put on some soft music and, when we're done, let's take a relaxing bath and enjoy a clean and fragrant home.

That's it for today, the other 3 parts are coming soon. Don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter so you'll know when the other two parts are coming. Subscribing activates the option to see the post directly in your gmail. See you soon.
