A great start to your day - blogmas#7

Today I'm going to talk about things you can do in the morning to start your day better, be more productive and focus on your daily commitments. This will come in very handy for me and for you who are reading this.


10 things for a great start to the day

1. GIVE YOURSELF TIME

Getting up an hour earlier gives you time to focus on yourself and set positive intentions for the day.

Rushing your morning routine means you're more likely to be agitated throughout the day. Be generous to yourself and enjoy this extra time! It will give you a boost for the rest of the day.


2. AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

You can start the morning by opening your eyes and simply saying "Thank you".

Appreciate the dawn of a new day with all its possibilities. It really puts a smile on your face.


3. DEEP BREATHING, GENTLE YOGA & MEDITATION

These are all great ways to wake up and gently awaken your mind and body.
When you wake up, it is a good idea to first take 8 to 10 deep breaths with one hand on your stomach and the other on the floor. This is physically energising and mentally calming. Yoga stretching will help you to decompress your muscles. And just 15 minutes of meditation creates a sense of calm that you will carry with you for the rest of the day. 4. WRITING Writing in your notebook first thing in the morning is a great way to shake off worries and create positive intentions for the day. Just 10 to 15 minutes of "stream of consciousness" writing helps us to shed anxiety and create a sense of optimism and enthusiasm to make the most of each day. 5TH EXERCISE - VISIT NATURE
Getting out into nature for a brisk walk or jog is a great way to boost your energy. Exercise releases endorphins - the happy hormones that flood your body first thing in the morning and fill you with a feeling of well-being that lasts all day! 6. WELLBEING, SOUNDS AND SMELLS Set an alarm tone that is pleasant to wake up to, instead of the typical (and stressful!) B-b-b-b-beep. Create a morning playlist of all your favourite uplifting songs. It's a sure-fire way to put a smile on your face. And - optional - singing in the shower 🙂 . Buy a shower gel that has a clean and pleasant scent so that you feel clean and fresh in your body. 7. EVENING ROUTINE Why mention your evening routine when this article is about how to START your day? A good bedtime routine has a big impact on your sleep - and therefore on how well the next day will start. Simple things like turning off the TV an hour before bed, or enjoying herbal tea in bed with a good book before you turn out the light... These things can really help improve the quality of your sleep and ensure you wake up fresh and ready to go! 8.
BREAKFAST
It's known as the most important meal of the day - but few of us eat breakfast properly. Sit down to a tasty and healthy breakfast - it's also a chance to catch up on the news, listen to the radio, enjoy a chat with the family or simply enjoy some quiet time. A good breakfast makes for a happy and energising day. Without petrol, you wouldn't drive your car! 9. EAT Start the day feeling loved by giving your children, partner or pets an extra treat in the morning as you head out into the day! 10. EMBRACE YOU Before you head out into the world, give yourself some love. It could be a hug, a few encouraging words to yourself or a high five to your reflection in the mirror. Whatever it is, really dedicate this time solely to yourself, without distractions. Let your body hear and feel you. Your productivity, new opportunities, the possibility of a promotion at work... all have a lot to do with how comfortable you are in your own skin and how much you love and value yourself.
