Riches - Time for you

Today a new story from Time for you: Riches.

CHAPTER 1

Childhood dreams fade once you get older. But some dreams do come true, like mine, little hidden dreams. I dreamt from a very young age that I would live in a rich family and have one and only one best friend. And I did it. My family is rich, but in this family it is just me and my mother. My father left her when I was two years old. I don't know the reason, and I don't want to pry into my mother's heart, she will tell me when she is ready.

Now that I am older I can see who really loves you and who doesn't, who you can trust and who you can't. I only trust my mum and my best friend Lejla. Because if you're rich everyone will stick to you, and once you lose money or something happens to you, you end up in hospital, that's when you see who stays with you. That's why I hang out with the people I trust, and that's my best friend Lejla. I have other friends, but she is the only one I can trust.

So that I don't just talk about being rich with my mum and things like that, I will introduce myself a little bit. I am Lina, I am 17 years old, I live with my mother in a quite big house, you could say it is a villa, in Ljubljana. My grandfather built this house and at that time he had a construction company. It was quite a big company for those days and there were a lot of workers. And the workers were happy with the job and, of course, with my grandfather, who was the manager. Grandpa liked to go around the company and help the workers and of course he would talk to the workers and they all liked him.

My grandfather died when I was 10 years old and so my mother inherited him. And Grandma died before I was born so I didn't know her.

Well, now that my mother has been a director in the company for seven years, the workers are happy with her too. And the company does cement and things like that for the construction industry. And when I took over the company I was thinking along the lines of having another small riding school next door. But I will see how it goes then. Because I can already see in my mother how much work she has to do with paperwork and bills.

When my grandfather died my eyes started behaving strangely I never found out why, and I didn't ask my mother why he was like that. What my mother used to tell me was that my grandfather was not a bad person, it was only when he died that he changed. And when I was little he played with me a lot.

"Good morning darling! How is your health?" my mother greets me.

"Morning. I'm fine," I replied.

"Well, at least some. What are you going to stay home on Monday, enough to copy what you missed at school?" my mom asks me.

"I can yes." I replied.
