Summer is a time when things naturally slow down. The days are longer, the evenings are milder, and if we allow ourselves, there is an opportunity for that quiet, deep return to ourselves. This time, I have prepared a short book guide, divided into three areas that I most often encounter in my inner conversations: self-care, motivation, and attitude towards money.
Each book has been chosen with the intention of not being too heavy, but still offering something important. Some have already been translated into Slovenian, others are still awaiting translation – but all of them carry something that can stay with you long after you turn the last page.
Choose one book that calls to you – or two, if you have the time and curiosity. Maybe just one area. You don't have to read everything. Maybe this book will be the one that marks your summer.
1. SELF-CARE
The Gifts of Imperfection – Brené Brown
Easy to read, yet surprisingly profound. It talks about how to stop apologizing for who we are and allow ourselves to live more authentically. If you are into gentle psychology and need something to remind you that you are enough, this is the right choice.
Radical Acceptance – Tara Brach
A blend of psychology and Buddhist wisdom. It helps you feel more peace and tenderness towards yourself, while restoring a sense of connection with life. It's not the easiest read, but it brings deep relaxation.
2. MOTIVATION
Atomic Habits – James Clear
A practical, clear, and very useful book that shows how small changes can create big shifts. Excellent if you want to try something new this summer – without stress, but with results.
"The War of Art" – Steven Pressfield
A cult book for anyone who creates, writes, dreams, or procrastinates. It encourages us to stop waiting and recognize the resistance that holds us back. It's a quick read, but very powerful.
💸 3. Money
"I Will Teach You to Be Rich" – Ramit Sethi
A very different book about money. No moralizing, no guilt – just practical advice on how to live better, smarter, and freer. With a lot of humor and very down-to-earth.
"Your Money or Your Life" – Vicki Robin & Joe Dominguez
A fundamental book for anyone who wants a different relationship with money, work, and time. It is not classic financial literature, but a profound invitation to change your mindset. Read it slowly, thoughtfully.
Maybe you'll only read one book this summer. And maybe it will be the one that brings something new – a gentler attitude towards yourself, more confidence in the future, or more freedom to decide what you really want.
I will be happy if any of these titles are useful to you – and as always, write to me if you have a book that changed your perspective.
Hugs,
Eva
