Today, in our "Enlightenment" column, we’ll be discussing a topic that everyone has heard of but few truly understand how it works in practice—we’ll be talking about chakras. Forget about complicated books and ancient terminology. Chakras are simply your energy centers. Imagine them as wheels that need to spin freely so you can function normally, feel calm, and have the energy to live.
We have seven main chakras, and each is connected to a specific part of your body and your emotions. If something gets “blocked” somewhere, you feel it immediately.
The root chakra is your foundation. If you’re constantly worried about money or survival, it’s blocked.
The sacral chakra is your creativity and pleasure.
The solar plexus is your power and what drives you forward—your inner fire.
The heart chakra is, of course, love—not just for others, but above all for yourself.
The throat chakra is your truth (those of you reading this know that mine is very active!).
The third eye is intuition, and the crown chakra is your connection to something higher.
Why is this important for beginners? Because once you figure out where you’re “blocked,” you can stop blaming external circumstances and start working on yourself. If you’re afraid to speak your mind, there’s no point in forcing yourself into new projects until you open your throat chakra. If you’re constantly tired and lacking motivation, you need to check your solar plexus. Everything is connected. Your body always tells you where energy isn’t flowing—you just have to listen to it.
I don’t view chakras as some kind of magic, but as hygiene for the soul. Just as you wash your face every day, you should check every day where your energy is leaking. When your centers are in balance, it’s hard for anything to throw you off track. You become more stable, and your intuition becomes your best compass.
Start with small steps. Observe your body and your reactions. Where do you feel tightness? Where do you feel warmth? These are your first signs of which chakra needs your attention. Once you understand this language of energy, a whole new world of self-understanding opens up to you.
Hugs, Eva
