Today, in the "Enlightenment" section, we won’t be talking about crystals as "pretty stones" for a shelf. We’ll be talking about their true function—energy. Crystals are living beings of the earth that have their own frequency. And since we, too, are energetic beings, their stable vibration can help balance ours when we’re scattered or under stress.
The theory is simple: crystals work through the so-called piezoelectric effect. They emit a constant frequency that influences our energy field. If you’re in chaos, a certain crystal will “pull” you back to center with its stability. It’s not magic; it’s the physics of energy.
If you’re just starting your collection, you don’t need the whole store. Start with these four, which cover most of your needs:
Clear Quartz: This is the "mother" of all crystals. It is a universal cleanser and energy amplifier. If your mind is foggy or you need clarity in your visions, clear quartz is your best friend. It also charges other crystals with power.
Rose Quartz: The crystal of unconditional love. Not just romantic love, but above all, self-love. If you’re too critical of yourself or if the people around you are draining you, rose quartz helps open your heart chakra and bring a little tenderness into your daily life.
Amethyst: This is the crystal of peace and intuition. It’s perfect for those who have trouble falling asleep or have an overactive mind (we all know how that feels!). It helps you meditate and connects you to your sixth sense—that ethereal realm I wrote about last time.
Black Tourmaline: Your personal bodyguard. This crystal doesn’t absorb energy; it reflects it. If you work with people or spend time in places with a lot of negativity and “energy vampires,” tourmaline will protect you so you don’t go home feeling completely drained.
When you get your first crystal, don’t forget to cleanse it (under cold running water or with incense smoke) and set an intention for it. Tell it why it’s with you. Crystals are your allies on the path to enlightenment, but they only work if you’re willing to work with their energy.
Hugs, Eva
